The vision sounds different

by Emily Ralph, associate director of communication

Admittedly, I’ve not been a huge fan of Mennonite Church USA’s vision statement.  It’s felt cliché as we’ve reiterated a utopic collection of Anglo American Mennonites’ favorite words strung into a sequence. Read more….

Notes to Pastors

Tell your story of God Still@Work (Conference Assembly 2013 Theme)

How is God Still@Work in your context?  Each day, God shows up and does what only God can do – transforms us.  How is that transformation taking place around you?

Would you share your story/God’s story?  Shared stories encourage, inspire and give us a view beyond ourselves.

At the Eastern District and Franconia Mennonite Conferences’ fall assembly these stories–our stories–will be shared through video.  We are asking every congregation and every Conference Related Ministry to submit a YouTube-style clip demonstrating how God is still @ Work.  We are looking for brief, 2–4 minutes, footage that will be compiled with others in order to give a broad view of what God’s work looks like in our conferences.

We will send out an example and more details later this summer, but for now we are giving you a “Heads Up” so that you can be aware of this exciting opportunity and begin capturing shots–either video or photos in a slideshow.

Support the Nueva Vida Norristown New Life Voter ID Clinic

Our next Voter/Photo ID Clinic will be held Saturday, June 22, 10 a.m.—12 noon at the New Life Plaza, 25 E Marshall Street, Norristown. Please help spread the word so the people who need any kind of assistance with obtaining a photo ID will know where to come. (Flyer in SpanishFlyer in English)

We are also looking for funding to help low income persons pay for the IDs and birth certificates. Our goal is for people to obtain the “good for everything” photo ID, not the “voter only” free ID. If you have funding to share, please contact us (610-945-6398 – happytail@cavtel.net)
