A Sinner and A Saint Pass Away

This past week saw the passing of two notable figures from the Civil Rights and Watergate eras. On Monday, May 19 Vincent Harding passed away at the age of 82. He was a long time Civil Rights activist, speechwriter and friend of Martin Luther King Jr., theologian, and historian of the African American struggle in the United States. Read more….

An Exploration of the Teaching Position on Homosexuality
Date: June 20-21, 2014
Location: Alive Church Ephrata, PADiscussions about same-sex relationships in society and church are lively in N. America. Eastern Mennonite Seminary Lancaster and Lancaster Mennonite Conference are sponsoring a seminar exploring the teaching position of the Mennonite Church USA on homosexuality.

Dr. Mark Thiessen Nation, theology professor at EMS will speak at two plenary session presenting biblical, theological and historical support for the discerned teaching of the church.
In addition, fourteen workshops across two periods will dig into practice issues of ministry and discernment in the local congregation.

Advance registration required. 
• $15 per person
• $10 per person for 5 or more from the same congregation
