MC USA Executive Board releases statement, approves resolution

In the midst of a winter storm, members of the Executive Board of Mennonite Church USA met to prayerfully discern a way forward on a number of issues facing the broader church. Together they affirmed the passage of a revised churchwide statement on immigration and a resolution that puts in place a task force to review a decision made by Mountain States Mennonite Conference. Please note, we are now providing a link on our conference web site for you to print out your own congregational contribution form: access it directly here or browse there by following these steps:

  1. http://www.franconiaconference.org
  2. On the main menu, choose "Mission"
  3. On the drop down menu, choose “Stewardship/Finance”
  4. On the stewardship page, the first tab is for “Congregational Giving Form”
  5. Instructions for filling out and submitting the form are included on the website.

Child Protective Services Training

Biblical Seminary is joining with NOVA and Esperanza Health Center to offer a crucial training for counselors and ministry workers. "Child Protective Services Law and Mandatory Reporting" will be held Saturday April 5, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Philadelphia and Saturday May 3, 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Hatfield.

This training will:

  • Increase knowledge of who is classified as a mandated reporter and what those responsibilities are under Child Protective Services Law.
  • Increase probability of suspecting child abuse when there is "reasonable cause."
  • Increase the understanding of the dynamics of child abuse.
  • Increase knowledge of procedure for reporting of child abuse to child protective services.
