All are welcome to attend the 6th Annual Regional Male Chorus Celebration held at Souderton Mennonite Church on Sunday, March 30 at 6:30 p.m. Participating groups include Blooming Glen Men’s Chorus, Akron Mennonite Male Chorus, Cantore of Harrisonburg, Va., and Gap Male Chorus. All men are invited to sing in a combined mass chorus which will include the above groups. Mass Chorus practices will be held at Souderton Mennonite Church on Saturday, March 29 from 2 to 4 p.m. and on Sunday, March 30 from 3 to 5 p.m. A light supper for the Mass Chorus participants will follow the Sunday practice. Everyone is welcome to Perkasie Mennonite Church on Sunday evening, March 30, at 7 p.m., for their annual Old Timey Gospel Hymn Sing. Duane Kauffman, Leona Landis and Rob Yoder will lead a variety of old-fashioned songs in folk style, such as “O Come Angel Band”, “Farther Along”, “Precious Memories”, and “Down to the River to Pray.” We’ll be singing many old favorites not found in today’s hymnals, as well as songs from the Hymnal Worship Book and the new Hymnal supplement books. Guitars and other folk instruments will accompany some songs, and some will be sung a cappella. An offering will be taken to benefit the local food pantry. Refreshments will follow the service.
