Everence awards scholarships to three conference students

Three students from Franconia Conference were named recipients of Everence college scholarships for the 2014-2015 academic year.

Job opening on Franconia Conference staff

Franconia Conference seeks a ministry-oriented full-time Administrative Coordinator (and/or short-term, part-time interim coverage). Must be able to work independently, be highly organized and detail-oriented, possess strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to represent and contribute to the mission and ministry of Franconia Conference in a friendly and professional manner. Computer proficiency (i.e. Word, Outlook, Excel) and an ability to meet deadlines in a flexible and adaptive environment is a must. Position involves front office coverage with a significant event planning component. Candidates interested in this ministry position should send resumes to execmin@franconiaconference.org by August 24. Candidates of interest will be contacted by August 29.


Urban Anabaptist Ministry Symposium

Since Nehemiah took on the task of rebuilding Jerusalem’s walls, ministers have helped to provide hope and vision in urban communities.

From October 2-4 in Philadelphia, Mennonite Church USA and MCC East Coast will co-host an Urban Anabaptist Ministry Symposium, which aims to connect Anabaptist ministers and leaders from Philadelphia, New York City, D.C. and surrounding urban areas. Together we will discuss developing community partnerships; homelessness and housing; ministry to youth and young adults; education; and many other practical topics. There will also be time to worship and fellowship together. This is a great opportunity for networking and meeting other urban-based Anabaptist leaders.

Whether or not you are from one of these urban centers, we invite you to come, network and participate with church leaders who are addressing community needs in our cities.

Registration costs $50 (includes breakfast and lunch.) See the symposium schedule and register online.
